I don't know. Yes it is an absolute but I have a master herbalist and naturopath that will use it.
Natural people may not like it but I specialize in natural healing and everyone I talked to medically says otherwise. It still has the healing properties of the plant. But then again I am into all modalities and have recently tried australian bush flower essences and was really pleased with the results.

| Oh yes, there is nothing wrong with using it as long as folks know exactly what something is and how it was obtained. The thing is that when the suppliers call it an "essential oil" but don't explain that it was in fact distilled from a chemically derived absolute/concrete... rather than from the flowers themselves (as that is not possible) - then the average customer doesn't know and will use the products made with it thinking they got an all natural product. I also have no problem with the soap/lotion/scrub... makers out there who make the hot pink sparkly super heavily (fake) scented products either - as long as BOTH the seller AND the buyer know exactly what is in the product and how it was obtained so that the buyer can make an informed decision. I wont buy this stuff at all, but that is just me. I just want my customers to know that when I say one of my products is All Natural - that it really is. I think it is important for them to know that they can trust me. I have a casual friend who makes whipped shea creams and bath bombs... . She markets them as all natural because they are homemade. Well, she uses mostly fragrance oils instead of essential oils, she uses a few absolutes and again says those products are "all natural", food coloring the kind that comes in the droppers (don't even get me started with that rotten kettle of fish), and almost all of the shea and other butters... that she uses is of the "refined" variety - which to me is missing the point of wanting to use one of these butter FOR THE QUALITIES that they have for the skin. Even during a relatively "harmless" (compared to other refining methods) refining, the butters are stripped of most of their beneficial properties. Again, if a customer knows that the stuff in these is mostly fake or "refined" - okay, but when it is being called "Natural" or "ALL Natural" - what are they to think ? She doesn't even know what she is making/selling nor how it was obtained and/or "processed" at all ! All she goes by is that it is pretty and it smells good. Well, they say rat poison and antifreeze smells and tastes good to animals - but we know the outcome there. She is very nice and would never hurt someone on purpose, but when you don't even know what you are selling and of course can't tell the customers, well, I just hope she never gets a customer who has allergies or other sensitivities.

| The food indusrty really get my goat (as grandma would say) because they seem to go out of their way to mislead the public. A consumer needs to be a scientist to even be able to tell what is in the food and how it was made. It is sad to see. I no longer trust the industry. I expect the worst from them after seeing all of the deception. I have had many diabetic friends who had no idea there was sugar in certain products because they didn't know it could be labeled "sucrose" "dextrose" "corn syrup" and many others too. Again, there is nothing wrong with these terms as they are accurate, but an informed customer is a safer and happier one. Did you know that almost all of the products containing corn or corn derivitives like corn syrup, corn gluten and corn starch... come from GMO (genetically modified organism) corn now ? If it doesn't say "GMO" free (or something similar) it likely isn't. I'll tell you what - I am glad I grow as much as I can and get my beef from the in-laws Angus cattle herd. My next step (after expanding my herb gardens) is to build a few chicken coops.

I really don't want to argue the point as long as you don't go around saying one is superior over another. All my things are certified organic by companies that pay for that certification. Not grown in my yard. While you say they are organic you can not prove that. I am not bashing what you use just making a point.
My jasmine is a blend which I say on my ad. I use it as I have people wanting jasmine. And quite frankly the pure absolute it 105.00 an ounce.
Tinctures are made with alcohol flower essences are also made with alcohol.
I focus on the healing abilities of nature and will not skip something that has healing powers for the sake of being totally natural. That is like cutting your nose off to spite your face.

| Correct, as long as the customer knows that something has alcohol base or has fragrance oils or colors... and thus can make an informed choice - no problem. Nothing can be completely guaranteed, but I go out of my way to show my customers how I do things. I even give organic gardening/composting/natural living... tips to show what I do in my gardens and in my home. I do have a few folks who will not buy my soaps or other products because I use goat milk in my soaps and beeswax in my balms and perfumes - they are vegans and do not use any animal products. That is fine with me and I don't judge them either. But, this is yet another reason to be clear about what/how I use in my products. I wish you well in your business and as I've said in other posts - I really like how you have added those new pages to your BiSi site. I think it will help you get even more sales

Thanks. I was being a little anal as I thought you were saying absolutes are not good and jumped the gun. Sorry.
