namesaketreasures (5/10/2008)
4CrossRider (5/10/2008) Can you explain how you used PayPal multi-order shipping to print the label? I thought you could only use PayPal if the customer paid with PayPal.I don't use the multiple order shipping tool. It confuses me! I use this... https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now and nope, you can print any labels for shipping using this even if they don't pay with paypal. Wow!! I have stores on eCrater and Blujay; never heard of BISI till yesterday. So I'm in here snooping around and this tidbit of info makes my day!!!! I have both Google CO & PP on both my stores. GCO is about 50% of my sales. But GCO doesn't have a shipping label feature so I've used USPS Click & Ship using my charge card. Except most of my sales are under 13oz, can go 1st Class, which C&S doesn't allow, so I have to hand-carry them into USPS and stand in line to buy postage. PayPal does allow shipping labels, (including 1st class!) but I couldn't figure out how to use it if the customer paid by GCO! So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! There are stats on the internet, can't remember where I saw it, but in the world of electronic on-line transactions, GCO has like 57% of the business, while PP has only 12%. PP is big to eBayers, but GCO is what is actually used by everybody else... so that's another reason I opened GCO for my stores. I want it to be as easy as possible for the customer to buy my item. If he has a charge card, Boom! he can have GCO. GCO & PP both have their quirks but I can live with 'em. Again, thanks for this hint! I signed up here just so's I could thank you!!!

Welcome to bisi!
Another note on the paypal shipping, if you open the paypal multi order shipping tool, under the file menu you can select "create an order" and you can input order data there. Then you can print the labels and receipts all at once instead of one at a time. Bisi has an order data export now. If you have a significant number of non-paypal orders, you could use the order data to create a csv file and you can just upload that the the multi shipping tool also.
That's very interesting that 50% of your sales are google checkout. I've been considering adding that option but the shipping situation was holding me back. Since we have the bisi order data export now, I may try it.
Another thing that might interest you is that at one point, Tomas had said they were looking into a postage/label printing service from bisi. I don't know if that's still in the works, but that would be WONDERFUL if they could manage it!

| So, wonder of wonders, last nite I got an eCrater sale with Google CO; I tried the PayPal shipping lable like was discussed above, and it was Perfect!!!!! Basically, this piece of info makes GCO wonderful; the last little irritation I had with GCO is gone! Also, Google will automatically pay my bank account today sometime, so I'll have my $ now. Whereas PayPal "holds" it for me till I get around to instituting a bank transfer which then takes another 3-5 days. In today's world of electronic transfers, they can take it out of you in 1 millisecond-- but they can't pay you for 3-5 days... right... I continue to accept PayPal because I believe there is a huge exodus of former eBayers, leaving eBay, investigating alternative online shopping sites. They mostly have PayPal, so I will make it easy and familiar for them. GCO was a PITA to set up --but then I'm not very computer savvy-- but BOY! it was worth it!

| I also have both Google and Paypal set up and have had no trouble with Google at all. I subscribe to the adwords (paid ad placement) and with that, I dont pay any transaction fees. The adwords generate a checkout credit based on purchases and the transaction fees come out of my credit balance. I am not really sure how I got them or how I replenish them but for the moment, I sure know how to USE them. Julie

I may not have the selling experience on BISI yet, but I've had my own magnetic sign selling website at www.jerisigns.com for several years now. I offer Google Checkout via their invoicing tool (for various reasons), Paypal and Money Order.
I have used Google Checkout since it first came out and I got a year + fee free. That was sweet! Now the fees are not as high as paypal, which I appreciate. The time it takes for the money to reach my bank is 3 days on average. I'm not concerned because I don't need immediate access to the funds. I also have my paypal account with my debit card. I use that for the immediate access needs.
For shipping, I use Endicia which has the added benefit of being able to highlight an address and it's all filled in on the Endicia screen. I've never been a big fan of paypal shipping because I don't care to advertise for them and cutting their logo off all my labels is time I can save by using a different service.
I've never had an issue with any chargebacks thru Google Checkout so I can't compare how they handle those situations, but I can tell you Paypal nabbed $100 instantly because some scammer filed a chargeback through their card company. They kept my money for a month before the card company found in my favor and paypal gave it back. My question is, who had my money all that time?? I'll tell ya who...Paypal. I still keep money there and use the debit card, but I'm not married to Paypal.
I figure the more options you give your customers, the more likely you are to make a sale. If for some reason a person is totally against using Paypal, and you have no alternative payment method, you just might lose that sale. Better to have lots of ways for them to pay you.

From a simple logo to a complete zen-cart installation and customization -- we can do it all! Web design at its best.

| I offer both PP and GCO here. However, I do not ship my services but rather email final products. However, I love using it. Just knowing that PP did not get a snip is great. I get notification from GCO via email too. I would say about half of my customers use it. I hope more use it with their PP Debit Card and get cash back for it too! Its a win win for my store (IMO).

In the order details, it will tell you when the customer's credit card has been successfully charged. Depending on how you set up your GC account, you may need to first indicate to GC that they can charge the card. I have mine set up to automatically do so.
