I need to decide whether or not to offer Google Checkout in addition to Paypal as a payment option in my store. I am interested in hearing all input on this.

If you use Google Checkout, what do you like and dislike about it?

If you don't use Google Checkout, why not?

Thanks in advance for all input you are willing to share with me in my decision making process. I truly appreciate it.

Hello,

I have signed up for google check out, but I don't use it.

Paypal has been around for alot longer then google's check out.

But it's really all up to you, its just another option for your customers to get to decide on.

I have it here and at Ecrater, no one has used it here but they have at ecrater, I did'nt see any problem with it, except that the shipping is easier with paypal, but maybe that's because it's what we're used to. Got my money from google deposited fairly quick directly deposited into my checking acct. The only probs I see is if you do have a problem there's not a whole lot of support. I can't seem to figure out how to raise my payout limit, but it's really not much of a big deal right now because I'm not selling much anyhow.

1) Google is a trusted name.

2) Fees are some of the cheapest around.

3) I've used Google Checkout exclusively since leaving Ebay as a seller, well over a year ago,  and I've never had a problem with it. No glitches. And, unlike my experience with Paypfft, no money has ever gone missing.

4) Their policies are straightforward and don't change constantly.

I don't use Google checkout. I've used Paypal for the last 10yrs and have had no problem with them whatsoever so I just don't feel the need to use anything else. Yeah, paypal has a little higher fee but I get my money instantly without having to wait for it to be deposited into my checking, I also have the debit card so I can get my money out right away, and the shipping is such a huge convenience for me since I'm physically disabled and don't drive. With google, it just seems very inconvenient if you need the money right away which I usually do.

I have PayPal & Google. My full intention is to see which is used the most and go from there. So far, 3 customers have paid with PayPal and 1 with Google. Plus I have a regular merchant account that I use for phone orders and when I do shows.

While PayPal is what we all seem to be use to, I hear there are other systems that work just as well. If you're like me and have left eBay, you may or may not want to continue with PayPal. One only knows if some of their new goofy funds holding rules are general rules or if they only apply to eBay sales. So, I'm gonna test the waters and go from there.

I'd love to try Google but I won't until I can figure out how to do the shipping. Bisi doesn't have any order exporting features and, as I understand it, Google doesn't have the shipping options like Paypal does. I refuse to enter order data manually. Too many opportunities for errors for someone like me. The time it would take to enter one or two orders per day manually into a shipping program would not be overwhelming, but what happens when the business grows and you have to enter 20-30 orders? I'd like to thing that bisi can be my home for years to come, but for now that means only taking paypal payments.

I'd love to hear about how bisi vendors using Google checkout handle their shipping. Maybe I've overlooked a simple solution?
