I keep my business cards with me at all times and whenever it is appropriate I give them out at the bank, the grocery store, at restaurants where I eat, anywhere that I shop, and My Mom passes them out at her Vintage Jewelry booth at our local flea/antique market.

Our local hotel and our local Bed & Breakfast keeps a display set up to advertise local businesses (non-competing of course) and they both have my cards there to give guests something fun to do while in town.

I have my website and my BiSi store links as a signature in all of my emails (it goes on automatically).

I want to get the car magnets.    How much are they ?    And, can I use my own logo or is that an extra cost ?

Almost forgot about this. Personalized business T-shirts, ball caps, tote bags, etc. I have some of these and wear them religiously to all the bigs shows that I set up at as well as my local trade days a/k/a flea market.

The most cost effective way to accomplish this is to find someone who is starting a new embrodery business or just works out of their home for extra cash. My sister has some really good looking polo shirts that she had done as well as long sleeve denum shirts. I'm in the process of collecting some new items to place my store logo on and maybe my .com address.

Great 1 time charge for free advertising.

I found this comparison site this morning. Don't know how effective they are, but you can list your individual products (with pics) and pay when someone clicks through to your store. Minimum click rates vary by category. No charge for the initial listing, just the click through charge.

Their info says they are six years old and are in the black.

Here's the link:

Does anyone know anything more about it?

nextag - I've heard of it can't remember where. Will have to check my notes that are scattered in different places.

Diana I'll have to look for where I got those car magnets, the ones I got are really big, I got them online they were having a 2 for 1 and I think I did'nt pay more than 12.00, I did'nt put a logo just my .com

Funny story, My brother in law has one on the back of his truck and was driving from here (NC) to New Jersey and on the Jersey Turnpike ( speed limit 65 ) some guy drove up next to him and was waving and pointing to his wrist, so I don't know if he maybe bought a bracelet from us. But they're definitely noticeable at 65 MPH

I'm thinking that Vista might have T-Shirts I'll have to check on that one, we live in a tourist area and they are always stopping " Locals " asking for where places are and such.

Thank you !

At the only places I found car magnets they were at least $30 each + shipping + a set up fee.    I certainly can't afford that, but I can do $12  - LOL

I have never ordered from Vista Print, but I have heard good things about them.   I wonder how they can offer such great deals ???

I bought T-shirt transfers at office depot and printed my logo and website onto them in a few sizes.    I then used them to advertise on shirts and hats for when I do shows/events.

I even iron on the design onto some of my muslin sachets (it is way too costly to do all of my sachets so I do about 1/5 of them and then someone buys a set of 3 or 6,  one of the three has my logo on it.    Sometimes a customer wants all of them to have my logo because they are gifts and a "brand" is important to them, and thats okay too - I look at it as extra advertising.

Right now I'm using business cards, myspace, youtube, craigslist, yahoo groups, e-mail siggie, and just plain ole submitting to search engines and directories. As soon as I get some extra money, I'm getting the car magnets. I also want to have some type of clothing items printed up but that seems a bit expensive but I'll have to check into it.

Vista Print is great!  If you order one item, you get offers all the time for free items.  Even customizing is reasonably priced. They have the car magnets in 2 sizes, t-shirts, pens, and just about everything else you can think of.  If you're not "graphically inclined" it can be hard to get the customized items set up in the right sizes, etc.  I have a friend who's good with Photo Shop set mine up, but you can also pay Vista Print to do it for you.
