hi just wanted to start a new thread where we can have promotion ideas all in one place.
I do squidoo, use stumble upon, Digg, Myspace, have emailed all my EB store newsletter customers, fixing to send out postcards to all past customers from paypal, have submitted to
google, yahoo and msn, and to some directories, I have them written down some where but they say they take anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months. I'm being very particular about which directories I read somewhere that they should have at least a page rank of 4.
Oh yeah I got those magnetic signs for your vehicle with my website on it , one is on the back of my husbands truck and looks really good, another on the back of my brother-in-laws truck, and one on the side of my car, which is okay, would'nt fit on the back of my little mustang. I have actually seen people looking at them so we'll see.
All these things take a lot of time but I keep on plugging away.
If anyone else has some good ideas that they would like to share please post

Well, I am just not with the program on MySpace, Squido, and the others. I guess I had better work on that.
I am making up cards - with a discount code on the back. So far, I have been able to get two different travel agents to agree to give them out for me. This is obviously very targeted, I know, but my site is aimed at cruise passengers.
So, if you have an obvious tie-in between what you sell and some other associated, but non-competing business, maybe they will let you place cards in their place of business.
And, if anyone knows of a Travel Agent who would like to have some cards - WITH DISCOUNT CODES - from a cruise related site to give to their clients, I'd be happy to oblige!

Squidoo and Kaboodle are the only things I have for now. I did those when I had an EB store and didn't really see much in the way of traffic for either of them. Don't do My Space or Stumbleupon as I'm not really into the online chat thing.
Car magnets, gottem though I paid way way too much for them customized when I can now order from Vista Print for 1/8th of what I paid for mine locally. They do work. I use to put them on my truck when I went to a show however the last local trade days that I did, my truck was dirty and I didn't take them off and someone actually stopped and asked me about my business, what I had, where I was located, etc. So, I handed them a business card with my new.com on it and told them where the local trade days was.
I closed my EB store around the first part of last month and we us being in escrow, just haven't gotten around to mailing out cards to all of my prior EB customer. I have included discount cards in my packages with the last few sales (not many) I've had on EB. I don't have anything listed right now in anticipation and preparation of our move and hopefully I can hit it full steam there in July so I can drive more traffic here.
I have also submitted my .com to all the major search engins but have only seen traffic from Google. As of now, placement in Gooogle is the best, then Yahoo and then MSN. Hopefully that will improve if and when my former EB store is removed from the search engins as it is still showing up.
Don't know much about adwords, I'm still learning about all this SEO stuff.
Looking forward to seeing what others are doing in the hopes to learn more and improve sales here.
