This thread gave me the push I needed:

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=2000561090&tstart=0&mod=1209673521455

I closed my eBay store.  My listings here are approaching 400 so I'll soon be able to close my ProStores store as well.  So this will be my primary home,

Not yet, however I'm hopeful.  Meanwhile it costs far less to be here than eBay.  $4.95 per month verses more than $30.00 per month listing on eBay plus high FVF; and that based on less items listed on eBay than BISI!  Then there is my ProStore charge of $20.95 per month.  BISI offers so many features for so little money so I'm here for the long-haul.

Mid-priced jewelry is a very tough category; IMHO, most buyers want cheap jewelry or expensive jewelry.  I've had some wonderful buyers on eBay but many are bottom feeders and want to buy for next to nothing.  I've been pushing myself to break the eBay habit and the above eBay thread was the final push.

I sell at outdoor markets/festivals and pass out business cards.  My summer push will be starting next month.

YIPEEE!! Sally, congratulations on freeing yourself from eBay!! I love it here and do not regret at all closing my eBay store that I had for YEARS. I've been making sales here regularly...NO eBay fee's is great! I now only run a few auctions a week there to drive traffic HERE!! Good luck to you!!

I am finding it tough selling vintage lingerie over the past year. I am hoping to keep ebay until I start selling here. I am running minimal auctions but really that is it. I really do not know what they were thinking with all the changes. I know they want to make more money for stockholders but my invoices have gotten steadily smaller until I am at the point where I started and I am not alone. Which means are they really making more?

Anyway with the economy the way it is I am focusing more on my organic products and have a booth planned at my local farmers market aka antiques row next week and will be doing that all summer getting my name out passing out business cards etc.

YIPEEE!! Sally, congratulations on freeing yourself from eBay!!   Thanks Brenda, I do feel better.  I closed my store in 2006 after the big fee increases and SIS stopped.  I re-opened it the last day of 2006.  This time I think I'm done with feeding the greed of eBay other than core (harvesting buyers of course).  BISI is such a superior site as well as costing a lot less so I'm much happier here.

As for eBay sales, a huge $226.41  since 3/08.  Today eBay took $41.30 from my PayPal account and I still owe $16.73.  I never could follow eBay's charges.  Fold in cost of goods sold and PayPal fees, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get that eBay is a loser for me at least.  When I do my outdoor markets the fact that I have a website seems to give buyers more confidence when buying from me.

LOL I went from making over 2,000.00 an average month with slightly less during the summer. IN 2006 things started sliding and 2007 I could not hit 1,000.00 no matter what I did. Last month I made less than 300.00 add to that I had a good month in november which I really needed being diagnosed with breast cancer and pay pal double charged a 300.00 withdrawl I made from my ATM so they took away 600.00 and only gave me 300.00.

Fought with then but of course paypal makes no errors even though I show two transactions one for 301.00 and one for 302.00
