I was wondering if I might be able to use the coupon feature to set up a gift certificate. Seems to me that it would be just a matter of making a coupon for $xx.xx and giving it a code. What do you all think?
Then, you could do a listing for the gift cert, and ask the buyer to use the not field in the checkout to give you the email or physical address of the recipient.

Would this work?
Does anyone see a problem with this?

This would work fine. You can set the coupon to use a unique code and set it as a one-time use.

I have been doing this for sometime. I just have a listing for the gift certificate(s), then when one is purchased I send them by email with the coupon code I have created for that Gift Certificate.

You could make one coupon code for each amount, but I do my seperate so I know when it is being used.
