I asked about this in another thread...different forum.  But the calculated shipping modification doesn't really work for all items.  Like one size fits all--NOT.

Could we have a section in in the Add New Product for insurance....that would show up at check out ????

Required  ____

Optional   ____

Included in S & H   _______

Cost   ________

We added new features to the calculated shipping modifcation that should address the issue of insurance.

You can now add a % to the order subtotal.

An insurance modification needs to be BY ITEM...not general.  Percentages won't work for all items.

If I sell a $15.00 item the insurance would be $1.65...or 11%.

A $40.00 item the insurance would still be $1.65 or 6%.

A $50 item the insurance jumps to $2.05 or 4%.  A $300 item it's $4.60 or 1.5%.  The more expensive the item, the insurance is a smaller percentage.  It doesn't sound right but it is the way it is.

If I put in a percentage...I'm either shorting myself on some items or overcharging on others.  The same with a dollar amount.

And I would like to SELL items..but if the customer perceives he is getting overcharged..he won't buy.  (But he'll go through a tank of $3.50/gal gas to see if he can find a better deal)
