| Hi If your store uses a custom template- could you please post your URL and maybe say what you like about it or point out changes that you made and why. I would love to see the looks and ideas store owners have! Cathy

I use the custom templates and I love the options it gives me. I intend to do more customizing as time permits, but for now I have just changed the styling of the templates to match the look of my homespun website. Eventually, the original website will be for ideas and information and such and all the commerce will be redirected to the bisi site. If the bisi site ever gets indexed by the SE as well as the original, I may move the whole thing here. My bisi rhinestone store is not upgraded ...yet.
In my bisi homespun store, I just kept the same html as the sample template and changed the appearance with an extra css page. I could have also changed the appearance with some embedded css in the actual template. I don't know much about authoring html but I can "tweak" things pretty well. I just started learning css a few months ago. I think the fact that I'm not too competent with html actually HELPED me learn some css. Css is just very logical to me.
If someone is thinking about playing around with some custom templates, don't let the "variables" posted on the wiki site intimidate you. I didn't change any of the variables. I just used the layout already present in the samples. Now I do intend to change some of that later. ... it's just too intriguing not to at least TRY!
I admit I use a WYSIWYG editor. It's a cop out, I know, but a necessary thing for amateurs.

Well, your websites are just beautiful and you should be professional!!! I found the perfect website template for horse merchandise, but it's made with FrontPage 2003 and can't be edited with my CoffeeCup html editor (at least that's what the lady told me). I priced FrontPage and boy is it expensive!!! Here's the template I would LOVE to have: http://www.pet-templates.com/chestnut/

That is a beautiful horse template. But she is right, it uses FrontPage extentions that are not compatible here. And honestly, a pain.

That IS a beautiful template but Jennifer's right... you should stay away from FrontPage for a number of reasons. Does Coffeecup support css? I bet you could do something similar yourself if you played around with it a bit.
