With a paid store and having unlimited listing capability is better just to list one line of products or to list a wide variety of products. My store's used auto parts are not dropship items but most all the others items are.

jmart (11/4/2009) With a paid store and having unlimited listing capability is better just to list one line of products or to list a wide variety of products. My store's used auto parts are not dropship items but most all the others items are.I will give you a opinion that may help or at least give you a different way to look at this. Take some of this if it helps and please remember I am not criticizing just my opinion. I have seen you post about the lack of sales here on the used auto parts. Your store has a mix of different items from used auto parts to new bedding with items in between. I have been there done that and it did not work. I also sell used, pre-owned items. I have a consignment business selling for others. I tried it here while mixing with the Tropical new items and I can tell you that it is 2 different clients. My consignment business is totally separate from my store here with no mixing or mention of the two. Buyers looking for new bedding are most likely turned off by the taillight lens picture next to it. May give the appearance of maybe not new, dirty. Maybe a question of how items are stored etc. Buyers do not realize and really don't need to know about the drop-ship. In there eyes it should come from you. After branding my tropical line of sauces etc here on BISI and having the site redesigned and having a name that matched my product my sales have really taken off. When they were under my consignment name and mixed with used items my sales were dead. My advise!! The used auto parts do well on eBay, keep them there and make your eBay site your used auto parts. Brand yourself with your new items here on BISI with a different name and sell the bedding and other new items that go along with the theme. A store here centered with it's own theme, name etc will in my opinion bring the sales in. Hope this makes sense in how I'm trying to explain it. It is hard to write out ideas compared to speaking them. If you would like to call me to discuss some ideas feel free to Pm me with your number. I'm no expert nor top seller but I have found what works and now have a direction to go in. Good Luck, Jeff

That was some good advice Jeff !
I would also say that no matter what you sell or how nice your store is, if you are not ACTIVELY getting yourself out there into cyberspace (or locally if that is your market), then you are hurting your business.
jmart, you took a good step in joining TSL, now go through and read the threads there and do what you can reasonably do now - and work on the rest little by little as you can.
You will be pleasantly surprised with the results if you can do the work it will take
