This store has been a work in progress, no doubt, and I don't have a whole lot of time to work on it and learn html, blogging, tweeting, facebooking and all that stuff, but I'm sure giving it a go....this grammy is having to step into this century LOL
Any and all suggestions welcome

i think you're doing a great job so far. you get your point across and even though the site isn't fancy the consumer gets the idea that you are selling a quality product because you sound like you know what you're talking about.

Thanks everyone for the responses. It's a kinda plain jane site, nothing fancy, I'll agree with that, but doing a little research I found that a large majority of men are color blind so they have problems with black backgrounds, gray text and the like....as most of us know from reationships and marriages to the guys, most of em don't really read either, so you gotta be quick and to the point. Like my fiance tells me "Don't make me guess what you want, just tell me and that way I don't misunderstand and not get you what you hinted you might want" LOL
I'm doing blogs, offering information on bench testing my restoration projects, coupons at HotFrog, just alot of little things I can find here and there...seems I'm getting some traffic off google and Twitter and some hits through HotFrog as well now.
Googlebase was giving alot of xml formatting errors off the BISI generated feeds so I finally took some time to see just what Google is looking for, made my own spreadsheet, saved as tab delimited text and got ALL my items to feed instead of only 1 this last time around.
This ecommerce stuff in the computer age sure takes alot of time and effort, my learning curve is expanding and traffic is picking up...at the same time with all the time I'm putting in on learning the ins and outs, I'm not sleeping alot because I'm still a one woman show on this restoration stuff and if I'm here, I'm not out there working

Wow certainly wasn't what I expected when you said grammy, I expected a little craft store!
Now that we are talking car parts I understand the suggestion of posting on the car guy forums!!
Another thing you might try is adding a few items to Craigs List or oodle.com for some extra exposure. I know guys share where they find their cool stuff like yours and word of mouth will really expand your business. I would also say get as much listed on your site as possible. It's better for customers to buy through your BISI store (no fees) than through Ebay. Also refer your ebay customers to BISI, you can even offer them special discounts for purchasing through your website.
Good Luck!

Thanks. I have items listed on HotFrog and have had some referrals from that, I send a business card to each person I ship to, end of auction emails come through IF where I sent to my BISI store. My product line is limited in that there are certain things I can restore, beyond that, my knowledge base and time base is limited.
Right now I'm the only person in the US or Canada that's restoring the three speed motors, so I kinda have a niche, I build for another hi performance online dealer, they're one of my vendors and I had just at $1000 in sales this month off my store! I'm happy and I think I'm kinda getting this, it's sure a challenge anyway
Thanks for all the suggestions. Craig's List I'd not thought of or the other one yet?

My hubby just finished restoring a 65 Mustang...he and his buddies all order their parts online. They are constantly exchanging the names of cool places to buy parts and such.
If you create your niche...the men will come running!
Best of Luck to you!

I'm married and still get told the same old thing!! Blah blah blah!
I am passing on your website to "the Boys" but no promises dear. Hubby has a ring of weekend warriors who play with all their classics and muscle cars.
