I have a product I created with options. I see where I can make the base product inactive by unchecking the "Product is Active" box. But I want to make inactive only one of the versions of that product that are listed under the options.

Example:

Coca Cola Soda - Base Product (Which I still want to display without a price on the product list page but can't figure out a way to do it).

Can - 12 oz. - Single - $0.95
Bottle - 16.8 oz. Single - $1.19 (Out of Stock so Want To Hide)
Bottle - 2 Liter - $1.99
Bottle - 16.8 oz. - 6 Pak - $3.49 (Out of Stock so Want To Hide)
Can - 12 oz. - 6 Pak - $2.99
Can - 12 oz. - 12 Pak - $4.99

I can change the stock to zero, but the product still displays on the drop-down selector - then a message appears - "Item is currently out of stock!" I would rather figure out a way to just not have that option available at all in the drop-down.

Of course I could create a product for each option - but rather not go that way.

Hiding the inactive variants would probably require some custom coding of your page templates.  There is currently no way I am aware of make some variants inactive while others remain active.

I agree with David. Can't think of a way to do this unless it is available with a custom template. If it is a feature you need, you may want to put it in suggestion box area.

You have me so confused! You seem to know a lot about coding, so Ive avoided answering some of your questions.

Are you asking if there is a way to do it already within the BISI coding? If so, the answer is no. If you are asking "how might I code this?", you seem to know more about that then just about anyone here. I would suggest Jennifer at BISI designs who may well have some of the coding bits you are intersted in already worked out.

I wish I had more programming skills - I have more ideas than the time to learn how to do them.

I wish bisi had a member contribution area like the ZenCart community has. They have dozens of mods that members have created, tested and listed - for free.
