I have had many customers saying they cannot checkout and they are having two different problems

1. IE8 cookies problem even though cookies are enabled

2. Customers are saying they cannot get to the 2nd page of the checkout

Anybody else seeing this I have submitted a support ticket to Tomas but just wanted to see if anybody else is having this probelm.   Thanks

I think there is a problem with the basic templates because I just tried doing a test adding an item from your store to the cart and I got cookies error. When I try on a custom template I do not get any error.

I remember reading Tomas stating IE8 affects sellers using it for bisi account, but stated buyers do not.

All stores and templates support all browsers. If your customers are receiving this error, it's because IE isn't accepting the cookies. (just as the error states). It has nothing to do with the template or browser version.

Thanks Tomas I was just curious why customers have been emailing me on problems checking out. Maybe their browsers are not set up to accept cookies. Thanks

Tomas I have done a test to see what the customers might be seeing I went into IE8 lowered the cookie settings to accept all cookies saved and exited out of the brower reloaded the browser try to add an item to the cart and it still says oops with the cookies error. I also checked other basic templates sites on bisi and the same thing cookies error. When I tried a bisi site with custom templates no problem item added under add cart with no problems. Thanks

But don't you find it puzzling that he got an error in one store, but not in another? The same person, using the same computer?

Doesnt that seem to point to there POSSIBLY being SOMETHING in the templates causing it? Obviously, they were not designed not to work, but.... you know how it goes with gremlins in the code.

I know what Im going to get you for Christmas, Tomas! A year's supply of "As far as I can see"'s and "It appears"'s and "Based on my understanding"'s ---- to add in front of your declarative statements.
