First, do we need to setup the tax and shipping info on the Google Merchant Center or do BISI's settings carry over?

Second, Google says I'm missing a weight attribute. Will you be adding that to the feed, or do we all need to manually add the weight attribute.

Third, I've noticed the product type attribute has changed on Google to be a somewhat tiered system. Before one could just use "household decor" but now it's like Household -> Interior -> Decor and so on.

I'm still trying to figure out why mostly all of my items aren't going through. They have so many rules, it's tough to keep up.

This is the error report that I received when I had my feed checked at http://celebird.googlepages.com/ckbase.htm

Starting to wonder if Google is worth this much work. I've been getting sales while they disallow almost all of my items. I only had stuff in caps like titles, but I guess that is a nono now.

I have help on one of your questions because I asked Tomas the same thing yesterday in a support ticket.

We can use the structured Google taxonomy strings in the "Google Product Type" field (the one at the top of the tab). It will accommodate up to 4,000 characters. The remaining attribute name and attribute value fields are limited to 50 characters each. Put another way, we can only have one Google taxonomy string per item listed.

In response to a separate previous post, Tomas said we should use the text format (do not include the quotes), not the XML format for the taxonomy string.

I'm in process of deciding which taxonomy strings to use for my products and will begin to change over -- slowly!

LOS use the Google Taxonomy to determine your product type...they keep moving this around and it's hard to find the Google Taxonomy page!

Clothing & Accessories > Jewelry > Bracelets This is the breadcrumbs of a cat...you can use the string of cats or the main cat...but I don't think you can break it down. For example...you couldn't use just Jewelry, but you of course could just use Clothing and & Accessories. It is very easy to get the Google approved cats once you get the hang of it!

As far as the tax/shipping info...
I am pretty sure that when folks had it filled out in BOTH places that it was charging double shipping.

Gee whiz! How can ANYONE keep up with google changes?

What's the easiest way to add new/used for google since bisi doesn't appear to have a select (say as ecrater) for this?

loveshack When you are listing your items use the Google attribute tab> for the name you will put condition> on the value you will put new, used or reconditioned.

Using the Taxonomy in the link above will make listing the product type much faster and it of course conforms to Googles set Categories.

Yes, this is quite a nightmare. I better change the sales tax then cause I configured it over on Google.

Yes, I have to fix the product type and thanks so much for the link. You saved me a good 20 minutes looking for it

I have to take all mention of combined shipping, any mention of FREE or BUY. You know the buy one and second ships free stuff.

I have to remove everything that I have in all caps.

I have to make sure no items have the exact same description. I will try by first adding in the color selection and see if that is enough.

We have to get Tomas to fix the expiration date, cause my report said it's now at 30.04, which is like days of year 365 divided by 12. It has to be no more than 30 days.

I also have to make sure all of my items are at least $1.

I wouldn't be including any links in the description. I'm sure Google won't be allowing those much longer.

Boilerplate refers to duplicate description or title content. It means phrases that are the same and so on. Even one word difference might be OK as my titles were OK and many just have one word different.

Mostly all of my errors were me saving time listing. It's super easy to copy and paste descriptions, and who really has time to do each item individually. Not me for sure.

I'm trying to use the CSV file to make the changes. I hope it works as trying to use XML will take me forever

LOS I've gone through all my items 3 times now over the past 2 months. First was to add the condition and proper cats, next I removed all my templates SellerSourceBook, then I realized I had a Visa/GCO/PP image in all my listings that was hosted through SSB and no longer was an image after I canceled my SSB account...grrrr. It's not fun, but Google seems to be calling the shots these days. I do have a C/P statement at the bottom of all my listings and haven't had any rejected as of yet. All my items are unique so yes I do each item one at a time, not much fun but to stay in Google I will change them all as time permits.
