All I know from my other site which I started on in June 2007 is that it took MANY WEEKS for my items to show up regularly and fairly strongly. And all the advice from over there was that you just have to be patient while the search engines do their thing.

| Janis, I am working on a informative thread about what all the Google lingo means and what to do and not to do. Just bear with me on it as this is not my "day" job. I work full time as well. ----------------------------------------------------- The biggest thing about SEO and finding what works is patience. It does not happen over night. And remember, only one site can be the first listed in a Google search. They do not crawl you daily either.

| Thanks, Jennifer. I've actually read (and understood) the pages that you're working through. It's a great service that you're doing for others, though, because sometimes that much text seem daunting. It's nice to see sellers helping each other here. I'm just trying to take it to the next level, that's all. I need stats to do that, though, since I'm not the only game in town. I'm a let's-see-how-we-can-do-this-better kind of patient person, actually, and am enjoying this research while I wait. Duplicated text is a big concern on even the google webmaster's blog. That's what I'm beginning to focus on here. Even google doesn't qualify "duplicate"--their webmaster comes close but stops short of defining it in a practical manner. Sorry if my energy level carries over on these posts as impatience. If someone's selling toasters in six different colors, all they need is for one of the colours to come up on a search engine. I need at least one in a category to come up on a search. I don't care if it's number 27,568 right now (I'll work on that later--smile); I just need to know that I'm doing everything that I possibly can to make it work. Hopefully, this will help others, too. Thanks for all the helpful posts.

I'm a let's-see-how-we-can-do-this-better kind of patient person, actually, and am enjoying this research while I wait. Understandable. I am starting at the beginning for those who are not yet to the next level. It might take me a week or so, but I will get to that second, third, fourth level (or however many there are) in time. And looking at stats of others really does not help you that much. They do things differently, have different content, different meta keywords. But for how often you are crawled, that is not really something you can set. That is up to Google.
