| Thanks so much for all this information! I've added a site map to Google and am trying to get verified. Has something changed since the redesign of the site? I've tried to add their metatag info to the appearances-page-text as directed in an earlier post, but it appears on my homepage and I don't think that's the idea. I tried to put it in the custom meta-tag area on the new SEO page, but it says no HTML and won't take it. Can someone please point me in the right direction (pretend you're talking to a child, I'm so new at this!) THANK YOU!! Patti

Hi Jennifer!
Thank you for all of this great information. I'm new also, and having the same problems as Patti.
I've created the Index file, but am having problems getting verified by Google, since they ask for one of two options....
1. Add a Meta Tag -- Not sure how and where to add this tag. I've clicked around in the menus looking for the HTML page with the codes, but am still lost.
2. Upload an HTML file -- Again, not sure where exactly where to or even how to 'upload' the file they provide.
Thanks so much! Hope it's OK to ask all of these beginner questions!

Laura, if you choose Add a Meta Tag on google, it will give you a code to add. That code can be added as a custom meta tag. Look under the Marketing tab for the SEO tab. Custom Meta is at the bottom of the page. Enter the tag name as given to you by google and the value. Be sure that you don't include any quotes (") in the value. Then just save your changes.

| Theres an issue right now where the older items are not being resent to google I think thats why a lot of people might be having problems seeing a lot of their products missing from google. I know they are working to fix this but I have noticed a huge drop in any of my listings showing up in google products and sales have gone down. I hope this fix will be resolved soon. Thanks

Maybe you took out too much? The tag on my site actually has a symbol as the last character. (=)
