Hopefully I can explain myself well enough with this one.
I have a few products (gift sets) that need to allow the customer to choose 2 to 3 different "Options" for the set and then of those 2 or 3 options, I have a large selection of choices on the drop down menu.
The current variant/options setup will not allow me to offer those choices because I would need to have a saved variant for every possible product combination. It's like a never ending Matrix.
For most of the sellers, I'm sure the current systems works fine, but it has left me with only being able to tell the customer to put your choices in the comments section which they can forget and it's not ideal.
I know with my other website host, there are just simple blank boxes that allow you to enter whatever text you want and if you fill them in, your options for the customer will then show on the product page (in a drop down menu), if you leave them blank, then no choices will be shown.
If there was a better way to offer this variety of choices that would be helpful OR I would even opt for the notes box ON the product page as others have eluded to.
