Let's hear it. What would you like to see as far as additional features & functions for custom templates?

I would love to be able to assign an image to a category, just like you do to a product. Ideally then, you'd be able to create a category list with images instead of words. Similar to the Featured Products table but a table of all the top level categories.
For my own store, I'd love to be able to assign some additional text to the product details page based on the category. Maybe that's already possible but I tried several scenarios and couldn't get it to work. For example, on the fabric catgory, I'd like the price to say "per yard" but that is obviously not appropriate for all the categories. I can imagine that there are other situations where category specific text would be very useful.

tomas (2/20/2009) so the prev/next links would only work from items in the primary category?
I was thinking along the lines of having the links show up on primary and sub categories. That way if you have a primary with no subs you'd be able to browse through all the items in the primary category using the prev/next link, and if there are subs then the prev/next links would only browse the products in the sub.

If you want to talk about admin functionality for the custom template area, bulk upload/delete would be nice for the Custom Files tab.
I second the "previous/next" links on the details page. It requires too much clicking to just get to the next product in a category as things are.
Hover enlargement of images might be nice. So if someone is on the home page and mouses over a featured image, the larger image displays.

Hover enlargement of images might be nice. So if someone is on the home page and mouses over a featured image, the larger image displays. This can be done already with your own code. The following image variables are returned: ProductImageFull ProductImage80px ProductImage110px ProductImage132px ProductImage290px You can use your own javascript you want to make them enlarge. Here's one I've used before: http://host.sonspring.com/hoverbox/
