Could you add a handling fee to make up the difference?

UPS is a favorite shipping method for my products and I just average out the shipping rate and use flat rates for all items. Yes, you will have a few that will be more, but you will also have some that are less than the flat rate. I did this on the other site and most of my customers were pleased with this method.

BTW, UPS rates are now available in case you didn't see the announcement.

In the shipping preferences section, I thought this statement under FedEx meant that FedEx AND USPS would both be offered to the buyer:

Selecting FedEx will enable all shipping methods provided.

It is important to me to not be locked into only one shipping carrier.

That should read "Selecting FedEx will enable all shipping methods provided by this carrier."

I've added a new feature under calculated shipping that will allow you to specify an alternate shipping carrier. If an order is over a specified weight, you can use an alternate carrier that is available.

Example:
Orders < 10lbs use USPS
Orders >= 10lbs use UPS

Tomas, did you see my comment in another thread about notifying buyers that FedEx Ground is ONLY for businesses, not residential delivery?

(snip) FedEx Ground is reserved for business addresses, whereas most customers will have a residential (FedEx Home Delivery) address. Can you add BUSINESS ADDRESSES ONLY to the FedEx Ground line?

Otherwise, I can see sellers being dinged for having to pay the home delivery charge because normally the customer is going to choose the lowest shipping charge offered.

Thanks,

Niki
