When setting up shipping currently you can only choose your default shipper either USPS or FedX. The problem being is that one choice is not always good for all items. For instance small items I like to ship with USPS as they have better rates, when it come to the bigger and more expensive items FedX is a better choice. It would also be nice to give both options and let the buyer choose.
I would prefer that these options be available on the listing page instead of preferences or at least and override of Shipping preferences.

I'm a bit confused by this. I understand how'd you'd want to 'override' a global setting, but what if you have one product set as USPS, and another product set as UPS in the same cart? The logic is a little tricky with something like this.

Well I will admit I never thought of it that way, in my thought process I am only considering one item in the cart at a time, so there really wouldn't be a problem. I can see though if you add a second item that has a different shipping method it could become a little tricky with the logic.
So taking this all into consideration I will withdraw my request.
Thanks Tomas for helping me understand this better.

| Tomas, Can't you just have it override based on the most expensive item purchased? Say if one item had to go FedEX, usually the most expensive shipping, then FedEx shipping would override anything being sent USPS because it is more expensive shipping. I believe that is how eBay does their shipping.

| Ok hese is my suggestion...I wouls like to ship Via usps which i do but i would like to choose which type of services i use like add Priority- and edit every option with the shipping like for instance price of shipping and so forth the only way i can do this is if i weigh my items...And to be honest its a little hard to weigh a Trading card...I have everything i need to do this but i would like to be able to actually do this...I Would like to be able to edit these shipping options Priority Express I use priority flat rate with the flat rate shipping system you have already.... But i would really like to express and do normal priority wcich is cheaper...that flat rate sometime thanks alot

If a buyer buys one item that is good for USPS and one that is good for fedex, the USPS item can usually easily be added to the fedex box, not the other way around.
I agree, I have small items that I would rather ship USPS and save the buyer money. I went ahead and just stated in the item page that the item would be shipped via USPS to save them shipping money.
I don't like having to choose one or the either as well.
ahh freedom...
