You mean exact attributes including price, title, etc? As in a totally duplicated listing?

Right?

I do love the new BISI look and the ease of listing You have done a fantastic job here in a very short time.

When you fill in product information, there are 10 places to enter google attribute names and values. You choose the attribute names that make sence for your items. I assume "artist" would be one of them. So, you can have "artist" as an attirubte name in all of your listings, AND, you can have "The Who" as the value for as many as you like.

What you cannot do is enter "Artist" into MORE THAN ONE of the attribute spots. This likely happens accidently - not paying attention when editing a listing, or when creating a new one from an old one, etc. BUT - it will "block" the item from being accepted by Google. This would happen here, there, or anywhere that allows YOU to enter the attribute names that make sence for your items.

A more likely error a person might make is to enter "Price" as a "Google Attribute Name". This would happen if they did not realize that "Price" is already being submitted as a Google Attribute (using the amount entered in the Price field for the product)

If a person makes that error - they might have ALL of their items rejected, because the attribute of "Price" shows up twice in all of their products.

Bottom line - Tomas was not talking about duplicate listings - he was talking about duplicate fields within a listing. This can happen because this site allows the user to create fieldnames. Creating our own field names is a GOOD THING (since I sell clothes and you sell records and someone else sells nuts and bolts). It does create this potential for duplicate "attributes" (field names).

===========
Another issue I see some people are having is perhaps coming from Google dissallowing a particular word in their title or description. You could run across this if you try to submit a record from "My dad is dead" - Google's programming might see that as "inappropriate content". Ive never heard anyone mention this when submitting ebay listings - BUT - that could be because Google does not bother to check ebay listings, since ebay has already had a chance to check them.

I have read that there is a way to request an exemption from Google. I dont know how it works, but its likely something you do once per item or something.... Obviously, plenty of words are more than fine in context - but really bad in another context.

Again - this would happen with listings from here, there, or even just typing up a spreadsheet and sending it to google. Its not about this site - its about your data.

I assume there are other "data issues" which also come into play.

I only just recently got myself set up for my items to upload, so I havnt gotten to see yet if they all go through, or only some, or ??????

============
Also - I would not base much on looking in google base for things you see in stores created here. You cant tell if the person just listed that item an hour ago and it has not been submitted or has not yet been "published" by base yet. You also cannot tell if the store owner here has even filled in to "submit my items to google base" section in his account here. (EASY to do, but it is a choice whether one wants them submitted or not - the default is not. I did not feel my site was "ready for prime time" yet, so I didnt let the items be sent to google base at first, for example)

Google expires items every 31 days. We'll resubmit the items once they expire, generally within the following 2 days.

When are newly added products uploaded?

My Base account shows 3 items were added on July 15th. They are products I set up here several weeks ago (if not months). I then uploaded about 100 more products more recently. I am assuming there is some kind of delay, which is fine. How long is the delay?

Or - do I apparently have another problem?

Thank you!!!!
