How long did it take everyone to get thier first sale?
Cause everything is submitted to Google Base and its all up(checked manually, and via the google base item list).
Also one other thing, are some of you guys doing Ebay and other auction sites as well? To like get your name out, for example cheap advertising?
I'd also like to know how the shipping calculator works as well. I havent played with it yet but was wondering if there were any limitations with it.

Sales depend on what someone is looking for. I think I had my site up 2-3 weeks before I got my first sale.
Yes, I do still eBay, BIN item only and only 1 at a time and it was and has been by far my most popular seller on eBay. Sales on that item have really slowed down in the last couple of months. Hits are also lower than they used to be but they are still selling. Not like before but they are.

I still sell some on ebay but not through an ebay store, just individual listings. I only list a very limited number of my actual inventory. Like GayNell said, just the most popular items. I include a postcard with the package that promotes my bisi store url. I consider my ebay fees advertising expense. As long as the stuff keeps selling, I'll keep on using ebay.
The shipping calculator works great if you get your item's weight entered accurately. The only problem I have with it is that it consistently offers the International Flat Rate Envelope to international buyers regardless of how many items they ordered. I have had to pay additional shipping myself sometimes because I just refuse to send them an invoice for extra postage after they have already checked out!
Bisi is not perfect but it's the best thing going in my opinion.

Well I dont think I would mind paying a little bit more on shipping if need be, but as long as its not outrageous then everything should be good. Thanks for the information. I hope things pick up soon, at least before my wife starts hollaring. LOL.
I was already thinkin of gettin some business cards printed up for when I ship a purchased item out. Maybe throw a coupon in for a discount if they get anything from my store in the future, etc etc etc.
