After yesterday's down time, I started wondering about backing up my store. Does anyone back theirs up? Would the export function be good for that? I don't use the import/export function so I'm clueless about how it works. Am I right to assume that if I do use the export function that it will just save a copy of my listings or does it remove them for editing purposes? I've looked through the BISI Wiki but didn't see anything about exporting. Would appreciate any insight...

The export function should be a very good backup.  It doesn't remove or change anything unless you make changes after downloading and then reload it.  If you just export all your listings and save the file, you'll have a copy of everything.

I've been meaing to do that and I agree with you, after yesterday's events, I think I'll get it done asap.

I was worrying about this too because I have a hard time with my hands and would hate to have to type all of that again !!!

Where is this "export" feature ? - I have the free version of Bisi.

You need the 5$ a month version to be able to export.

And, right - export doesnt mean move, it means copy

IN ADDITION, if you work through how to upload listings from a file, then you can work on product listings if this site would happen to be down, AND (hopefully more likely!) if you are without internet service (such as taking the laptop to the pool!)

Im thinking of making a more user friendly copy of the spreadsheet/file used for uploading listings and some user friendly directions and offering it. I would need to charge something for it - similiar to an ebook. CHEAP, but not free. Its going to be work to set it up, AND, its going to be work to email it to everyone who would say they wanted it. (Based on my past 38 years on this planet, I find that people come out of the woodwork to get FREE things)

Would that be acceptable? (or is it not my place since there is money involved) And, would anyone be interested? Lets say I charged 3 or 4$

I would love it...right now I don't have a clue how to upload files and get annoyed at how long the save option takes when adding new items. If I could list a bunch and just upload them that would be great! I didn't know BISI had anything like that. Could you use it for the free stores? I haven't upgraded just yet.

I would love to bulk upload and have a backup however, I don't have a clue as to to accomplish this.

I could however figure it out if I had an example.  Anyone game in providing me an example?

Well, I bulk exported my store items yesterday to a notepad file (the default option) but when I open it, it looks like a bunch of gobbledygook. I guess I was expecting columns or something more distinguishable. Do you recommend exporting to a spreadsheet?
And yes, a tutorial to bulk upload or export would be very helpful!
