I didn't want to waste too much time with the site being down today and wanted to at least get my item descriptions written. I know doing them in Word is usually a no-no as the copy and paste can pick up some hidden code that will show up when the listing is live and will require a lot of editing. And I know that doing the descriptions in Notepad is a better option, but it it doesn't have a spell checker. So I went ahead and did my descriptions in Word. Now I'm wondering if I copy and paste my Word doc into Notepad if it will "clean up" the hidden code. Anyone know? I'm hoping to avoid editing. Thanks!!!

I have tried writing a description in Microsoft FrontPage and because I can save and edit for doing future descriptions, like having a listing template. However, when I did this, my entire BISI Detail Page with the description did not display right. I finally found some errant HTML code that I did not insert was in the code. Consequently, I know I can't use Microsoft FrontPage for writing and saving descriptions and I am assuming Microsoft Word also.
When I pasted my description in NotePad, NotePad did not clean up the code. I had to eliminate the errant code myself. I now plan to save my listing template in NotePad (I am just beginning to list on BISI), however, I did not think about the no spell-check issue with. NotePad. I may have to find another way to do it since I am a bad speller.

Thanks for the info. I was really hoping that transfering it to NotePad would do the trick. I'm a horrible speller too so I do depend on Word. I guess for the future I could put it in NotePad and then run the BISI spell check while listing. Unfortunately, I didn't think of that until now! LOL!

Funny thing - I did my listings and did copy and paste from the Word document. But this time I got a pop up that said, "The content you are trying to paste has MS Word formatting. Would you like to clean it?" So I choose "ok" and had no problems! The only changes I've made to my computer is that I downloaded Webroot Spysweeper. Do you suppose that did it?? What ever the reason, I'm happy!!
