I dont think thats really the point. I see this as a way to start an INDEPENDANT website and have some of the formatting/cart/inventory, etc taken care of.

I SOOOO did not want to start from scratch. I also did not want "merchant moms" noted at the bottom of my site (nothing against that company - I dont know anything about them - I just want to be seen as a real business, not as a "merchant mom")

I realize it is possible to come to this site and click the shop button and then search/browse for items offered through stores using this system..... but - I expect that ZERO of my sales will come from that... unless coming from others who are also using this service as their sites "back end"

So - what sells? Items where the demand outweighs the supply, I assume!

Ohhhh - vintage cookbooks... what do you think of this item? My husband and I crack up looking at this kind of thing, so I knew I HAD TO buy this one (from a garage sale). The seller was very surprized to see it bought!

OK well thanks for ridiculing something that I happen to like.  I really appreciate that.  There are people who buy vintage cookbooks, maybe it's not here.

And actually, I kind of like that cookbook.  But I couldn't say so earlier because I was laughing at the stuff in YOUR store.

See?  Doesn't feel real good, does it?

Oh my.

Surely people enjoy vintage items in part for the humor in them, no? Im not ridiculing that cookbook. But, how can you not see the humor in reading the "many ways to drink knox geletan"? and to look at the way they used to photograph things, which is so different from the way food photography is done now?

Not funny as in "this is lame, who would want this" , funny as in "this is unusual and interesting"

I was serious in asking "what do you think of this" as a seller of vintage cookbooks. Is it a good find? Do people collect books like this? Is a book like this a dime a dozen which no one would want? I don't know, but you must have a fair amount of knowledge.

I honestly don't see one bit of humor in it.  That was how photography was done back in the day, btw, it's just part of the genre and I actually think it's pretty cool.

You know, I could find 'humor' in horse-themed kids clothes or slippers but I won't.  Just because that's not what I'm into doesn't mean that someone else doesn't like them.

And I told you already, I like the cookbook.  If your friend doesn't have it already, I bet they'd appreciate it.  It's a thoughtful gift on your part, very nice.
