I copied and pasted the product details sample template into my custom templates and it will not work. The others will work just as they are but this one doesn't. Perhaps that is why my custom template isn't working either?  I just left the old template in place for now.
I am the third person in the forums to report a problem with that template. Would you please fix the template or tell us how to fix it?
