Could someone tell me IF 3rd party (other designers) templates are allowed on bisi? I read through the "terms of service" and didn't see anything about it ... or at least not that I could pick out of all of it. Thanks!

Hi Patty, I don't see why you couldn't use 3rd party templates. It's your store to customize as you want. Did you open a support ticket for Tomas? Welcome to Bisi - your store is looking great!!

| Hi Brenda and Big Cat Designs, Haven't opened a support ticket on it Brenda because I can see by allllllll the questions here that Tomas must be overwhelmed by us all. I was hoping that others here would post replies (which you and bigcatdesigns did) and let me know what they were doing. Yup, the site is coming along, but ever so slowly. Have changed it so many times, I decided to give it a break for the weekend. Sure have learned a lot through the forums here!! Was really wondering about it though because a former post I had made was deleted (I had recommended a 3rd party designer's site.) So, thought maybe it wasn't allowed. Amazing group of people here!!! Big Cat, thanks for the sites to look at ... really lookin' great! Shows what can be done! Loved your sites!

Rainyday, I read your original post and I'm surprised it was deleted. So far, we've had lots of uncensored freedom in the forums. I hope that's not going to change.
There shouldn't be any problem in using the templates in your product listings like you are doing in your store now. Those templates should not be confused with custom templates which are entirely different. Custom templates affect the entire store, not just the one product and need to have all the right bisi variables in the code to display your products & information correctly.

| Thanks Gayla. So far, I've been able to get my front page to look okay ... not a lot of bells and whistles ... but it's okay. Possibly later I can have someone design a nicer site, but for now, it's functional. Also, there's a learning curve here getting everything set up, so this seems to work for me for now. Do believe it was deleted because it was a "plug" for another site (no not THAT site ... shees, THAT one has pinked serveral from what I've been reading) for mentioning bisi. LOVE THIS SITE!! Pox on the other!! Bisi forever!! Patty

| What I did was find a 3rd party provider template I liked and downloaded their files to Microsoft Frontpage. (I find this is the easiest software to train my artists to update their own sites). I modified the graphics in Photoshop. I made a basic template in FrontPage using Tables that would be consistent to all pages (left side navigation, top bars, footer, etc). Inside the main frame I copied and pasted the code from the BISI sample template using the Split Screen function. I then copied the code back to the BISI custom template page. Sometimes its a bit hit and miss, and sometimes you may need to use the the codes from the WIKI to get everything working just right. Still learning on each one I do!
