I would like to see a link on every page of the merchandising area that would take a shopper to a Directory of the Stores. I've seen this feature on quite a few Malls and Shopping sites, and it's very useful, especially if the Stores are organized by what they sell or do -- bookstores clumped with bookstores, etc. I want the potential shopper to be able to find me. With a simple listing of items, those listed last appearing first, this is extremely unlikely, especially with the prospect of having to plow through hundreds of pages.

I'm really interested to see what direction BISI goes in. My initial impression is that it wasn't going to be set up as a shopping venue (but rather seller-marketed standalone storefronts) and that the search function on the main page was just a little bonus.

Hi poopsheet,
yeah, I was thinking stand alone stores too, rather than a shopping venue. I'm curious to see what Tomas has in mind too!

There have been a lot of requests for categories on the shop page. This is why we're adding them.

I still am focusing on BISI as an independent and stand-alone store builder, but if we can drive more traffic and more sales by adding categories and an enhanced BISI marketplace, I don't think anybody would object.

It's hard to get people out of the 'eBay' mentality where they think if they list a product, it may sell on its own. Your stores success is up to you! We are focusing on providing  you with all the tools necessary to help you succeed, but as in any business, its success is reflected on how you market it and promote it.
