I'm trying my hand at customizing one of the standard BISI templates and have two questions:
1) I really only want to customize the main page at this time. Can I use just one custom page, or do I need to copy all the "templates" into their appropriate spots, even though I'm not doing any customization to them?
2) Do I need to add the spedial Google Analytics code to each customized page, or does BIBI take care of that as they do with all my standard pages?

1) unfortunately, it's all or nothing with the custom templates. 
2) just put the google analytics info the the place provided in your admin. You don't have to put it in the custom templates if you are using the samples provided as a basis. On those, there is already a script at the bottom of the page. If you're not using them as a basis, you could copy/paste the script into your own templates.
