You can now specify an alternate shipping carrier based on total order weight from the Preferences/Shipping section of your store manager.
This allows to over-ride your default shipping carrier if the total order weight is equal or over the weight you specify.
Example:
Orders < 10lbs use USPS
Orders >= 10lbs use UPS
