I think it would be a good idea if the view counters were reset at the first of each month, other wise it gets to where the counts really don't mean anything.

By resetting them each month you could then use them to see how well a promotion went for a product. You could compare the 2 different months. Like in Jan. an item had 15 views, you promote it in Feb and it got 36 views you could then assume that your promotion did some good.
