Oh, and DO NOT submit your url to Google until you get much farther along with your site.... your "about me", "contact", etc filled in, and the "SEO tab" for each catagory page, as well as the header text.... you need your key words written into these places.

---- Once google indexes you (after you submit the url to them - per the direction in the pinned thread I mentioned) - they do not re-index you for quite some time. Mine were done about 4-5 days after I submitted the url, and NOT AGAIN SINCE - its been 5 to 6 weeks.

The search results will always take a user to your current/live page - BUT - Google will decide if your site is "worth of" being near the top of the search results based on that old, indexed page.

So.... you do want to put some effort into "optimizing" things BEFORE sending in the url. THEN AGAIN, I know you want to GO LIVE with your site (the other one especially).

So, its a balance there.... but - your site wont come up anyway if Google doesnt see it as relevant.

PS- If anyone knows how I can get Google to re-index my pages... that would be Fan-Tab-U-LOUS! They still are not as I know they need to be, BUT, they are way better than they were when I submitted on 8/3.

I had at least 1 sale a day for a week after the indexing, and then just about nothing since then.

Hey You!

Thanks for the advice!  I will look into the book and the class.

As far as the GoogleBase, I am logged into my GB account..and it says that I don't have any items!

What am I doing wrong?
