Macintosh User: Any time I try to save an excel file to a txt (tab delimited) file, it will not work. I tried to copy your sample file, and was able to make it work one time, with one sample line item. As soon as I imported it to and back out from excel to a txt file, it would never work again! I have a database (FileMaker Pro), with over 3000 items I want to start listing in BISI, but don't know how to get it started. Is there any way to re-vamp the system to use xls files? See my attached trial.

If I could have my way, I'd create the tab separated text file right from FileMaker Pro, but I do not know how to make the first line headings (Or, are these necessary, does the bulk up-loader ignore, and just go by what is in the column?)

I don't use a Mac but I've never been able to ssave directly from Excel or OpenOffice either one into a tab delimited file. The resulting file is always rejected by bisi.

I have, however, had success when I copy and paste the rows and columns into a Notepad file. I save that file in Notepad and that's what I can upload.

Do you always need the header, or is just the info in the columns needed?

That, I don't know. I do know that the exact text in the header is not important. A word can be misspelled and it still uploads correctly.
