okay this has nothing to do with BISI

but I need help maybe a computer savvy person

when i go to a particular website I can't get on with this computer
it takes a long time to load then I get a blank page and done at the bottom.

i was able to go to the website before
what I've done so far:

used a different browser;
cleared cache;
can get on with another computer here,
had someone else get on with their computer;
disabled my firewall
disabled pop up blocker
uninstalled new software that I thought I could get on b4 i installed it
cleaned my disk
rebooted several times

so if any body had any suggestions
this is wierd

Thanks
Sally

Wow! All the stuff you said were all the things I was thinking of suggesting...til I saw you mention them. hmmmm Could it be something like a javascript error or incompatibility? What does the page you are trying to view have different about it from other sites? If you could narrow that down it might help narrow down the problem.

Is there flash on it? Or other *things* that take place when you are loading, like Java?

nope had disabled java too forgot to put that on list

don't know
found something that said to use google cache

do a google search and then click on the cached link below the search results

well that worked but I still don't know why I can't go there directly

Is the problem with just one particular website?

Handcrafted candles, tarts, lotions, soaps, lip balms, bath bombs, milk bath and more.

so far it is just the one website, but I can get that website from another computer, and I had someone else try it from their computer and they can get to it

someone told me to do a google search for the site and click on the cached

did that and it worked twice and now I can't even get it that way

I just don't want it happening to other sites too

I've had that happen before. It ended up that I needed to enable cookies for that site. Give that a try and see if that helps.

Wow, my first thought was that the site was being blocked by your computer - but if you turned off your protections then that's not it.

Sally,

The only thing that I see off hand that you forgot was to delete all the tmp files on your system. Do a search for *.tmp and then delete all of them, now do a search for ~*.* and delete all of those.

You said that you used a different browser, I guessing that you used Firefox or Opera. If not you might be using one that actually uses the IE engine hence the same problem.

BTW: After deleting all the temp files reboot before trying.
