Im still curious if my idea seems "acceptable". Actually - people are paid to create templates to use here - so this would very similiar to that.

I do believe we can bulk upload to the Free version of the store. I opened a 3rd store which I plan to keep as a free version and Ill check to be sure.

I do know you cannot Export FROM a free store.

Bulk uploads are not that hard. Most people that have problems with them just didn't read the wiki and follow the sample carefully enough. It takes a few tries but once you get your file right, you can use the same one over and over, just replacing the cell data with your new items to upload.

I agree that its not hard to DO the bulk upload. (its actually so simple and so fast, you might think nothing happened!) But, I think you may be discounting the fact that some people have no prior experience with using a spreadsheet, and may not be at all familiar with computer programming.

Something which is second nature to some of us - such as that data needs to be of a particular type - integer, text, number, etc - is something that many people have never exposed to. And of those who were, most have not thought about it since. I suspect that Wiki looks like mumbo jumbo to many people.

That wiki looks like mumbo jumbo to me too! I just didn't think it was so hard to download the sample file and mimic it. I didn't necessarily UNDERSTAND it, I just switched out the bisi sample data for my own data.

But, having said that... I am sure that there are plenty of people out there that would buy your ebook and would love to have it explained in everyday language. I think a bulk upload tutorial is something that bisi should have provided all along, but since they didn't you should definitely go for it.

Maybe you could offer a bulk upload service also, like the custom template services? You could create their files and upload it for them? I bet you'd have LOTS of takers on that one!!!

I know what you mean!!! But if there's a market for it, eventually someone will be doing it.
