I have alot of stuff on my front page but all of it is what I want/need to say up front. Is it too cluttered? Do you have any suggestions on what I can do if you do think it's too cluttered? Thanks!

In my opinion, I do think that there is too much information on the front page. I think that I lot of the information you have on the page is crucial or helpful and should be included somewhere within your site, but not on the front page.

I think the "Welcome" section is find, but after this section, I would like to see images of what you are selling. You have sections on "Shipping" and "Feedback" on the front page and moreover, near the top of the front page, however, I think you should first draw your customer in with images of your merchandise, because it is not your "Shipping" and "Feedback" that is going to initially make a potential customer want to buy something from you.

I have been to sites where I saw the merchandise and fell in love with an item, and then I went to see the shipping terms. Sometimes the shipping terms were not to my liking, but I brought the item anyway because I was already in love with the item.

All of the foregoing is just my two cents.

Good luck with your site. I am still trying to get mine together.

I woudlnt call it cluttered because it is neat and orderly (the godaddy home page - THAT is majorly cluttered in my opinion!)

But, I do agree with the previous poster that its a lot of text, whereas I want to see PICTURES!!!!

A quick and easy thing to do would be to copy all of the text to another page (terms, about, whatever) and then state "Click About to learn how this site works" (something like that), (or put an actual link to that page right there in the text) and also "Click a catagory on the left to see all the die cuts!"

OR - I do see a lot of places where you could say what you are saying, but in a lot less words/space -

Also - I see you are using custom templates, so you could likely add another text box BELOW the featured products and have your text there, and just a bit of it at the top welcome area.

----
Now, I have my own "thing" which Im not so sure is how others feel, but here goes.....

I like to see PICTURES of the ITEMS. If I were given your site and your business, the first thing I would do is remove the Penny Stretchers graphic and replace it with an image showing the diecuts! Even though they could not be clicked on from the graphic - it would immediatly show people what it is you are selling. Id probably also include the phrase "Click a catagory on the left to see all the die cuts!", And, also an image of a quarter or 25(cent sign) to right away show people the price of most of them. And, a phrase regarding ability to buy any number desired.

An image like this can be made in MS Paint - but I do them in Power Point (which you might not have). I insert the photos, crop, resize, place, etc. Plus, use text boxes, etc. Then a box around all of it, then do "save as picture" and all the elements end up saved as one jpg..... that can then be uploaded to that "store header" spot (Id actually use the one at the very top of the page for this)

THEN, that would free up that space where the penny saver logo is now (you could incorporate that into the graphic). Then Id keep the welcome BRIEF so that the 3 featured images would show WITHOUT a person having to scroll down.

===== And, now, I realized I might like to do this myself - I dont have little pictures of my items on my home page - but I think its easier to understand what my product is than your product.

Ok, only my opinion, but first off, I don't think you should be apoligizing on the front page.  I don't know it just didnt seem professional or something, I can't quite find the word for it.

Also, alot of the information you have can be put in your about me page, like the things you'd like to know and your favorite links.  I don't think these should be on front page.

I think a simple welcome and description of your services should be enough.  The shipping information is not too bad since it is not long.  They should incorporate a shipping tab on these sites, but maybe it's on the upgraded one, I dont know.

Hope that helps and good luck

I know - I haven't been into change anyything but I think the words you are looking for are "Next food network Star" I thought of that girl who recently got the boot. She always was apologizing.

Ok - I'll work on this tomorrow and get it cleaned up (and not apologize!)

Thanks

Ok I re-did my pages - take a look! I gave them the crumb of free shipping on the front page so if they want the details they have to look at the "about" page. Not many page themes to pick from but I think this one fits the best...

Look good?
